World Children’s Day 2025: Honouring Every Child’s Voice, Rights, and Dreams

Today, we join the world in celebrating World Children’s Day, a special moment dedicated to recognising the rights, dignity, and limitless potential of every child. This year’s theme, “My Day. My Rights.”, reminds us that children are not just the future—they are active, vibrant members of our communities today, deserving of love, protection, participation, and equal opportunities.

At Tuungane CBO, children are at the heart of everything we do. From our education support initiatives to our sports and mentorship programs, we strive to create spaces where children feel safe, valued, and empowered to express themselves. World Children’s Day gives us an important opportunity to reflect on the progress made, amplify the voices of children, and reaffirm our commitment to protecting their rights.

Across Kenya and within Kilifi County, children continue to face challenges—including access to education, protection from violence, and opportunities to participate meaningfully in decisions that affect them. Yet, they also show resilience, creativity, and strength that inspires our work every single day.

As we mark World Children’s Day, we celebrate:

Their voices — bold, honest, and insightful.

Their dreams — big and full of possibility.

Their rights — fundamental and non-negotiable.

Tuungane CBO remains dedicated to walking alongside children, families, and communities to ensure that every child grows up in an environment that nurtures learning, safety, and hope. We continue to champion children’s rights through our Watoto Wasome Initiative, mentorship programs, community dialogues, and child-centred sports and art activities.

Today, and every day, we recommit to building a Kilifi—and a Kenya—where every child can thrive, dream without fear, and realise their full potential.

Every child matters. Every right matters. Every dream matters.

Happy World Children’s Day!
