Our Impact
We are working to inspire life long learning among young people and youth within Kenya’s Coastal region through access to quality education, livelihood development, better health, peacebuilding and prevention of gender-based violence.
Our Thematic Areas
Talent Development
We nurture and develop talent among young people and the youth through sports and art focusing football, beach soccer, music, and visual arts, providing platforms for skill development, creativity, and opportunities for personal and professional growth.
Quality Education
We aim to increase access to quality education among young people and the youth through mentorship programs, library services, edutainment outreaches, and linking the beneficiaries to scholarship opportunities.
Good Health and Wellbeing
We enhance the health and well-being of young people and the youth by providing essential information and services on Sexual and Reproductive Health, mental health, and Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) leading to healthier and more empowered communities.
Economic Empowerment
We empower youth groups with the skills and knowledge to achieve financial independence by providing comprehensive financial literacy training, expert business mentorship, and targeted support for income-generating activities in agribusiness and the blue economy.
Peaceful Coexistence
We aim to foster peaceful coexistence, prevent gender-based violence, and promote access to justice, diversity, and inclusion. Through sensitization meetings, capacity-building trainings, and community dialogues with key stakeholders, we strive to advocate for safer and more inclusive society. We also facilitate referrals to ensure that individuals in need receive appropriate support and services.
Environment Conservation
We empower young people to take urgent action against climate change and its impacts. Through awareness campaigns on key environmental topics, we provide learning opportunities from young leaders implementing climate solutions in their communities. We also connect youth with climate advocates worldwide through initiatives like beach soccer, mangrove restoration, and community cleanups, using sports as a tool for environmental action.
Volunteer Engagement Program
We provide opportunities for both local and international volunteers and Friends of Tuungane to engage with our initiatives. Through exchange learning programs, internships, and hands-on participation in community projects, volunteers gain firsthand experience, contribute to our mission, and actively support our programs to create meaningful and lasting impact.
